When I asked for an 1100 page book for Christmas, I thought that perhaps it would take me most of the year to finish; I was wrong.  The book is a Norwegian trilogy that was translated from Swedish.  The book takes place in Norway in the middle Ages. I completed this book in less than three months and I couldn’t put it down.

This book is one of those books that in a few years I will have to go back and re-read.  It is not just a novel with a good story, but a novel that speaks to the soul.  It is a novel that follows a the life of a little girl from the age of seven until her death-bed in her fifties.  It is a novel about sin, conviction, consequence, repentance, grace, and struggle.  This is a novel that anyone can read and find something to identify with.

I consider this a good book because it will cause you to carefully examine your life.  It is one of those books that will teach you something new each  time you read it.  I HIGHlY recommend it and if anyone chooses to read it, let me know!  I would love to discuss it and read it along with you.
